This personal project was a deep dive into the fusion of high-end technology and Scandinavian minimalism. It represents a pivotal moment in my career, as it earned me the title of „Germany’s Best Young Professional Photographer 2024“. My objective was to elevate the Wilfa coffee machine—not just as a kitchen appliance, but as a piece of functional art.
To achieve this, I stripped away all unnecessary accessories, allowing the product’s clean surfaces and modern form to command the frame. The visual challenge lay in the materials: capturing the interplay between transparent glass, deep black synthetics, and polished finishes. I utilized a sophisticated lighting setup, combining sharp light edges to define the silhouette with soft gradients to give the surfaces a premium, three-dimensional dimension.
The color palette was intentionally chosen to bridge the gap between technical precision and the warmth of coffee culture. By using a muted caramel-beige background, I created a sophisticated contrast that made the black unit pop while echoing the rich tones of coffee powder and brewed liquid.
Staying true to my signature style, the entire series is built on a strict architectural grid. While most shots remain static and composed, I strategically introduced dynamic elements like flowing water to break the rhythm and add a touch of life. This project was about making the viewer „feel“ the quality of the machine through visual weight and graphic perfection.
